During his time in office, Rep. Michael Merrifield has embraced his role as House District 18's public servant with a passion that stems from his personal and professional experiences. As a retired teacher, former small business owner, former City Council member, family man, and outdoor enthusiast, Michael has long enjoyed -- and worked to preserve -- the good things about our community.
Rep. Merrifield serves as the chairman of the House Education Committee where he plays a key role in improving our public schools by ensuring that students are always priority No. 1.
Rep. Merrifield also serves on the House Transportatin and Energy Committee. In that role he has an opportunity to help promote conservation as well as the use of cleaner and alternative energies.
